The first religious services held in Burlingame were in 1855. There were no church buildings, but on Sundays the whole community would gather at one of the homes or under the trees for worship. People would attend religious services together regardless of their denomination. By 1856 a Congregational Church had been built in Burlingame. Baptist, Methodist and Presbyterian churches were soon to follow. Eventually the Congregational and Presbyterian churches became one body.
In 1948 the Federated Church was formed when three churches in Burlingame came together to unite in one congregation. The Baptist, Presbyterian and Methodist churches came together to become the Federated Church.
Today the members of the Federated Church come from a variety of religious backgrounds. We are truly an interdenominational congregation which is able to worship together because of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is our hope and prayer that you too would join us as we worship the Lord Jesus Christ. If we can assist you in any way please let us know.
